One could easily see the talented dancer in a show and not discern anything is wrong with Catherine Wreford.
A professional dancer with a huge number of stage credits to her name, only when you look at the show programme you realize she has brain cancer.
Catherine Wreford was 39 years old when she was first diagnosed with Anaplastic Astrocytoma(a malignant brain tumour) and was told she had two and six years left to live. This was 6 years ago.
Catherine says she put it in her bio because she wants people to know she’s still on stage performing despite her disease.
She wants them to know because the disease could kill her at some point in her life but not at the moment.
Despite training as a dancer and going on to star in Broadway shows, Wreford had actually given up her career in the entertainment industry more than a decade ago.
Wreford tells directors and producers of her condition in advance, who make allowances for her needs.
Despite 2019 being the year that her determined time should be up, she is preparing to appear in a new production of Romeo and Juliet in her Canadian home city.
Catherine is a definition of a strong talented and brave woman.
