Bodies Recovered In Boat Mishap: Lagos State

12 bodies and more has been recovered in the recent boat mishap on the Badore-Ijede sea route which occured June 29,2019.

The boat mishap occured in the mid sea at about 11.pm on the 29th of June 2019, with only 3 survivors.

The 20-passenger capacity boat capsided after being hit by severe waves en route Ebgin Jetty in Ijede at Ikorodu, near Lagos.

Investigations revealed that the mishap was caused by poor visibility and the passengers had no life jackets.

The Lagos State Waterways Airport(LASWA) general manager, Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel who confirmed the recovery told newsmen in Lagos that they were yet to recover five bodies.

He further said the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and the Nigeria Police Force has intensified efforts to recover the remaining bodies.

Mr. Emmanuel said that LASEMA has taken the corpses of the victims to the mortuary whose family members were not on ground while others have been claimed.
