Dethroned Emir of Kano Gets United Nations Appointment

Muhammad Sanusi Lamido, dethroned emir of Kano, has added another honor to his lost crown just after his dethronement.

It seems that the dethronement of Sanusi by the Kano state government was a blessing in disguise rather than his downfall.

On Wednesday, March 11, Lamido Sanusi was given a United Nations appointment as an Advocate of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This appointment  came from the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, days after he was deposed and allegedly banished by the Kano government.

It was made public in Nigeria and he has continued to get appointments both locally and internationally.
