Atiku’s Lawyer Discharged of Alleged $2M Fraud Charge

In 2020, Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie, a lawyer to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar stood trial alongside his brother, Erhunse Giwa-Osagie, on a three-count charge of money laundering to the tune of $2M, brought against him by the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission).

After much investigations, a Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed the charge against the lawyer.

According to Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, the EFCC failed to establish that the money said to have been delivered to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2019, was illegal.
