Actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, better known as Baba Ijesha, who has been in public eye for a while, regarding the sexual assault case against him. He was arrested on the 22nd of April, by the Lagos Police Command after he was caught on CCTV, assaulting a minor.
Today, the 16th of June, Baba Ijesha is at the Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, as the trial commences.
He was in the company of his colleague Yomi Fabiyi, his family and many other of his supporters.
The actor had earlier been granted bail of five hundred thousand naira (#500,000), the trial is likely to begin today following the suspension of the strike by judicial workers in Nigeria.
According to Baba Ijesha’s friend, Yomi Fabiyi;
“I am in court because I believe in the rule of law and I have right to come to the court and observe the case.
“I want to see how the court (hearing) will go because there are so many lacunas, so many things that should have been done.
“I want to see how the rule of law and justice is being served.”
