The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, has announced during the presidential Task Force briefing on coronavirus in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
The Nigerian government has confirmed a second death from COVID-19 in the country.
The minister said as at Monday, 30th March, they have recorded a total number of 131 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, NCDC confirming 20 new cases of coronavirus in Lagos, Abuja, Edo, Enugu, Bauchi, Kaduna and other states, majority of persons who came in from overseas.
According to the health minister, the highest numbers of confirmed cases are in Lagos and Abuja because they serve as the major gateways to the country.
The purpose of the update was to minimize the incidence of fake news in the country.
