positive for the Ebola Virus from Butembo.
Although health workers have lived in fear of the virus reaching the town, they have sprung into action and tracked down all the other people on the bus.
The health ministry has released a statement claiming the risk of spread is relatively low.
It was stated that “Because of the speed with which the patient has been identified and isolated, as well as the identification of all passengers from Butembo, the risk of spreading to the rest of the city of Goma remains low,”.
More than 1,600 people have died since the Ebola outbreak began in eastern DR Congo a year ago – the second biggest outbreak ever.
