The 27- year old, Bryshere Gray, who played Hakeem Lyon in the movie series ‘Empire’ has been sentenced for felony aggravated assault. He was sentenced to 10 days jail and three years probation.
It was reported that the actor had assaulted his wife in July last year for several hours that she had to run out to a gas station in order to call ‘911’. He has also strangled her leading to her temporarily losing consciousness.
According to police report, multiple visible injuries were on the his wife’s body and the actor was said to have barricaded his home in Arizona overnight
At the time, he was arrested and booked for disorderly conduct charges but has now been officially sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to the domestic violence charge.
As part of the plea agreement, the actor must enroll in a domestic violence offender treatment program. He is also prohibited from consuming any illegal drugs and from possessing any stun gun, tasers or any other kind of firearm. He also would submit to drug and alcohol testing. He must check in with his probation officer within 72 hours of contact from law enforcement and must also get a written approval from the police to associate with anyone who has criminal record.
