The Federal Government of Nigeria has notified Nigerians against participation of any form of protest, to barricade the Lekki tollgate in Lagos state on the 13th of February 2021.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed attested to this while he spoke in Abuja, saying all security agencies have been put in strategic places in an alert to curtail any form of protest.
The Minister also stated that any further resort to violence in the name of #EndSARS will not be tolerated this time.
“The security agents are ready for any eventuality, a situation in which six soldiers and 37 policemen were murdered in cold blood by hoodlums will not repeat itself. The attack, looting and razing of 269 private and public property will not happen again. The killing of 57 civilians will not be approved. No government anywhere will allow a repeat of the kind of destruction, killing and maiming wrought by the hijackers of #EndSARS protests last year,” he said.
Alh. Lai Mohammed also said that those planning the protest should avoid it and that intelligence report has indicated that some of the planners are non-Nigerians, fanning the embers of violence and inciting gullible people back home. He appealed that no one should fall for their larks.
