Immigration Comptroller-General and Chief Medical Director of University College, Ibadan Tests Positive to COVID-19


The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. Muhammed Babandede has tested positive to coronavirus.

Mr. Babandede, who returned from the United Kingdom to Nigeria, March 22nd 2020, made the confirmation on Today, Sunday.

Also the Chief Medical Director of University College Hospital, in Oyo State, Ibadan has tested positive to COVID-19.

Professor Jesse A. Otegbayo confirmed his status to testing positive to coronavirus. He was said to have contacted this virus during their board meeting which lasted five days in the hospital, although they observed social distancing and other precautionary measures as much as they could.

However, one of them appeared to have symptoms of COVID-19, and his samples were taken to the lab for test, causing the meetings to be called off.

The participants result tested positive of COVID-19 and the professor himself went on self-isolation and got tested of coronavirus, although no symptoms has surfaced yet.

All staff and everyone who took part in that meeting have been advised and contacted to go on self- isolation, pending their test date and time.
