Teachers, Students Abducted by Gunmen in Edo State

On Wednesday night (10th of March), gunmen allegedly invaded the National Institute of Construction Technology, Uromi, Esan Northeast Local Government Area of Edo State, releasing gunshots in the air and proceeding to abduct some teachers and students. The particular number of abducted persons is yet to be confirmed.

The inhumane act led to an increased tension in the area, causing parents and guardians to storm the institute, in a bid to ensure the safety of their ward(s).

The incident was confirmed by the Edo state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bello Kontongs, a Superintendent of Police (SP), saying that he was awaiting the details from the commander of anti-kidnapping unit of the state’s police command.
