UNILAG SUSPENDS SECOND LECTURER FOLLOWING ‘SEX FOR GRADES’ DOCUMENTARY

Another lecturer of the University of Lagos, Dr. Oladipo has been suspended following the ground breaking BBC AFRICA EYE investigation into sexual harassment at two top West African universities.

On Monday, UNILAG announced the second suspension of its lecturer secretly recorded propositioning an undercover reporter.

This is after the suspension of Dr. Boniface Igbeneghu who also appeared in the documentary propositioning an undercover reporter who posed as a 17 year-old seeking admission into the university.

This announcement comes after the University of Ghana said two of its staff filmed propositioning reporters posing as students at the university, would be suspended.

Three of the lecturers, Dr Oladipo, Prof Ransford Gyampo and Dr Paul Kwame Butakor deny the allegations against them.

The two Universities the documentary focused on; University of Ghana and University of Lagos have released statements distancing themselves from the activities of the lecturers saying they do not condone sexual harassment or #SexForGrades.
