Update: 30 out of the 40 worshippers abducted in a mosque, have been rescued by security operatives

30 out of the 40 worshippers who were abducted in a mosque, by gunmen suspected to be bandits, have been rescued by the Katsina state police.

Recall that Tslnigeria tv reported earlier that 40 worshippers were abducted in a mosque during mid nite prayers in Katsina state.

Acccording to Isah Gambo, Spokesperson of the command, he said the worshippers were rescued by a combined team of Nigerian police, military and local vigilante.

Gambo said that a headcount was conducted by the police and 10 persons could not be accounted for. He, however, said that it’s not yet clear if they are missing or escaped during the attack.

“We will wait and see, while at the same time we will continue to search for them in the next couple of days before we can make a categorical statement.” he stated.
