After many speculations regarding the death of an NYSC official who tested positive to corona virus, the Director-general of NYSC, Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim has stepped forward to give a detailed explanation as to the events surrounding the death of the official.
While many have falsely said that the official died in camp, in a video interview by Channels Television, the DG cleared the air on the matter;
“It is not true that the staff died in camp. In line with the PYF and the NCDC guidelines, all prospective corps members and camp officials that are invited for the orientation exercise were tested. It is mandatory that all must be tested and only those that are negative are allowed into the camp, while those that are positive are taken away by the NCDC and State health officials for treatment. That was what happened”
The Director-General also stated that the official who tested positive to the virus in Kano state was taken to the isolation center in the state, where his unfortunate demise took place.
